Faux Silk Rose

Faux silk rose from Wrights at www.wrights.com

Faux silk rose from Wrights at www.wrights.com
A soft fabric rose is the perfect accent to dress up any of your home decoration projects, whether for a specific holiday or any other time of the year. This lovely rose is actually made from our new "faux silk" ruffled quilt binding.

Just a small amount of binding with a few hand stitches and you have a lovely accent to use on tie backs, fabric photo frames, or a Victorian Christmas stocking. The photos below illustrate some of our ideas, or use your own imagination for where you want to use them. On the tree, on a wreath, on a stemmed glass as a favor, or with items made using the other coordinated trims - the ideas are endless!

Materials

  • 1 yard Wrights® Faux Silk Binding (# 183-6505-046)
  • Needle and thread

Instructions

1. Fold 1-1/2" of one end of binding over to form a 90° angle (see Illustration 1).

2. Roll 3" of binding around folded edge to form the center of the bud
(see Illustration 2). Sew a few stitches at the back to hold bud in place.

3. Continue to roll binding and stitch as you go to form rose (see Illustration 3).

4. Enjoy!
