Dress-Up Costume

Yardage for size 2-4

  • 1/2 yard for contrasting yoke
  • 1 yard for body and sleeves
  • 1 pkg. 1/4" elastic
  • 1 pkg. large rickrack

Cutting for size 2-4

  1. Cut two (2) rectangles 12" x 15" yoke. (12" is front and back).
  2. Cut oval for necklines to measure at least 18".
  3. Cut two sleeves 15" x 15" (may be 22" x 15" for gathered sleeve).
  4. Cut two rectangles for front and back 20" x 20".

Sewing Instructions

  1. Press 1/2" under on all edges of one bodice (inside yoke).
  2. Sew necklines right sides together, turn and press.
  3. Gather sleeves and front and back skirts to fit bodice sides and bottoms.

Leave sides of sleeve and body open!

  1. Finish all cut edges, hem and sleeves.
  2. Zigzag rickrack to neck edges and edges of yoke.
  3. Insert elastic in a casing on both sleeves and tie ends to form a cuff.
